⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Run by a promising young team with the coolest tattoos. It's a tight space that seats maybe 30 at most, and the vibe is playful and casual but highly efficient. Come for dinner to get the full range of their grills and cooked items.
We loved everything we ordered: the grilled squid, tsukune and chicken thigh skewers, burnt cabbage and the hamachi salad. The squid was nicely charred, and the tsukune with egg yolk was a highlight. The chicken nanban, topped with egg mayo, was very sinful but so tasty. And the grilled white corn skewers? I really loved those. The beer was very good too, and complemented the food well.
Good to know
- Paid $118 for 2 pax, including 2 alcoholic drinks
- Reservations are a must. It's very popular, with two seatings (6-7:30pm and 7:30-9pm)
- Parking is limited. It's about a 10 min walk from Upper Thomson MRT
- Woodlands Sourdough is right next door, so grab a loaf after
Next time I want to try the ginkgo nut skewers and the oden, which both look really good. Would definitely return!
